My wife's MacBook Air has stalled during the latest update. She just gets wheel turning with the progress bar stuck about 50%
How can I restart my wife's MacBook Air when the progress bar won't finish?

If your computer isn't responding, and you can't access the Apple menu, please hold down on the power button for about 5-10 seconds until your screen and computer turn off. Then, turn on your MacBook, and see if the updates completed. It's possible that they have already completed in the background.
